The COO Risk & Finance department

The COO Risk & Finance department delivers Risk & Finance related services to its stakeholders, i.e. Group Finance, country CFO’s and Wholesale Banking, Risk, Tax and Bank Treasury. These services encompass operations and change initiatives for accounting, reporting, data foundation and business advice services, including system, process, data and information management, and analytics capabilities.

Our opportunity 

We have a position in the STARS team as ‘Accounting & Reporting Expert on Intercompany Breaks’ working as a lead on monitoring intercompany breaks and other differences that delays our reporting delivery in Global Services.

You will be the single point of contact during monthly reporting processes in order to ensure timely reporting by our resporting teams – this involves management reporting, statutory reporting and regulatory reporting. Next to this role, you will use the other time to contact ING entities to improve first time right accounting and decrease the number of adjustments (increase straight through processing).

Your responsibilities 

  • You maintain and develop (easy to read) Statistics and trends providing a view on the level of reporting breaks, where useful in buckets that show concentration areas, insights in root causes of the differences;

  • You actively seek for solutions and proposed changes that decrease the number of differences;

  • You monitor and support planning of ongoing initiatives by our change Tribes that should improve reporting breaks (like update in source systems);

  • You steer on benefits in STP (straight through processing) that were implemented these initiatives;

  • You are facilitating own process optimization;

  • Translate (solution) designs into IT solutions;

  • Execute user acceptance testing;

  • Develop / maintain documentation to clarify the working of functionality for different stakeholders;

  • Support automation and operational effectiveness.

How to succeed 

We are looking for an energetic and driven expert with strong analytical capabilities who uses state-of-the-art methods and techniques for business analysis. You have integral, domain-exceeding knowledge of Finance.

You are an excellent communicator and able to build bridges between different stakeholders. You are able to convincingly put forward your proposals and are a real team player in reaching broad agreement on the road to follow. In this way, you can contribute to delivering standardised, uniform and fully adapted solutions to complex Finance issues and processes. 

Furthermore you have:

  • University (Bachelor’s/Master’s) degree in (business) economics or a comparable field

  • 7-10 years of hands on experience as a BA with implementing and designing functional solutions in a financial institution

  • Banking products knowledge

  • Knowledge of and experience with regulatory reporting

  • Working knowledge on Regulatory Reporting (COREP / FINREP)

  • Hands on experience with SQL

  • Affinity towards Data Model / Database

  • Hands on experience on MS excel

  • Excellent Communication skills, written communication and power to convince

  • Very strong team player; pro-active, ability to connect, positive mind-set, flexibility, focused on cooperation and sharing knowledge
