This structure incorporates a small Reporting group located in Arnhem that is responsible for delivering consolidated financial reports to company management. Within this context, your mission in this role is to act as an essential member of the Reporting group, which reports to the Director Specialist Accounting & Governance.

Senior Financial Reporting Specialist (80%)

The role and its responsibilities
This is a wide-ranging and highly active role in which your core purpose is to coordinate and drive the preparation of high quality quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as the coordination and handling of any auditor comments. You are involved in producing ExCo and Audit Committee reporting packages. You take an active role in ad-hoc analyses for management. For this you work with HFM and CxO Cockpit.

In doing so you work closely with others in the corporate global consolidation and reporting (ACD-FR) department at various levels to understand and explain AkzoNobel’s financial performance both internally and externally. You also interact with Corporate, BU and FP&A representatives in order to build solid explanations of business performance. It also requires you to work with representatives of other departments (pension, tax, treasury) for various analyses, and with external auditors and other third parties as required.

Further, you take part in departmental ACD-FR projects.

The Code of Insider Trading is applicable as you will handle confidential information. As such, the role requires you to observe the highest ethical standards.

This is a part-time position of up to 32 hours, 80%.

Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must possess all the following attributes:

  • MSc in Economics or similar, with a degree in accounting;
  • Approximately six years of corporate reporting and IFRS experience;
  • Able to work in an exposed environment (Corporate management) and deliver service-focused reporting requirements while challenging requests when appropriate;
  • You get the job done despite tight deadlines and challenging circumstances;
  • The determination to drive the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including fluent written and spoken English and, ideally, Dutch.
